Mission and Values
Riverside Family Support provides in-home, office-based, and virtual services to individuals and families in Augusta County, Page County, Shenandoah County, Rockingham County, and the Harrisonburg City area.

At Riverside Family Support, our mission is to strengthen families by fostering resiliency, restoring connection, and building stability. We provide trauma-informed, culturally-competent, relationship-focused services that empower parents and children to thrive, no matter their circumstances.
Why families choose us...
We understand that every family’s journey is unique. Whether you're navigating the child welfare system, rebuilding family relationships, or working through a difficult season, we’re here to help.
We Prioritize Relationships
We know that strong, healthy relationships are the foundation of family healing. Our services focus on connection, helping caregivers and children rebuild trust, communicate effectively, and grow closer.
We Offer Trauma-Informed, Judgment-Free Support
Many of the families we serve have faced overwhelming challenges. Our team is trained to recognize trauma responses and provide support with compassion, not criticism. We meet families where they are and help them move forward.
We Build Resiliency, Not Dependence
We don’t just provide services - we educate and build skills. Whether through parent education, therapy, coaching, or supervised visitation, we aim to empower families to overcome obstacles and create lasting change. The work families do to heal and grow now becomes the stability their children count on later.
We’re Rooted in Stability and Structure
Children thrive when their world feels safe and predictable. Our services are consistent, reliable, and structured to create a sense of stability, especially when everything else feels uncertain.
We’re Local, Accessible, and Flexible
With services offered in homes, offices, schools, and community settings across the Shenandoah Valley, we make support available where families need it most. We offer flexible hours and work with families to create plans that fit their real lives.
We Believe in Families
At our core, we believe that most families, given the right support, can heal, grow, and stay together. Our team is deeply rooted in both professional training and lived experience. Collectively, our staff is raising, or has raised over 20 children, ranging from newborns to college-aged adults. Among us are biological, foster, step, and adoptive parents who know firsthand how challenging (and meaningful) this work can be. We combine evidence-based practices with real-world empathy to support families through their most difficult moments.
